Our work was recently recognized by The Art Director’s Club of Metropolitan DC (ADCMW) which collects design from DC, MD, and VA. Our work for The Revival Tour and The Gaslight Anthem were recognized for excellence with the Monster Series receiving a rare Silver Award.

Paramore poster for their sold-out how at The Fillmore Silver Spring. I wanted to do a play on some of their car imagery (i.e. Fast in My Car) and the more melancholy songs by showing a woman already for a night out only to have her car break down and she has to fix it. Available now in our store.

We did this poster for Dropkick Murphys when they play the SASQUATCH! Music Festival. The festival asked us to create a few posters for their gallery show they hold each year! We will have roughly 20 of these available for sale with all proceeds going to THE CLADDAGH FUND which is run by Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys. On sale now in our store.

We were asked by the Wordless Music Series to create a super limited edition poster for the first NYC live performances by English composer Clint Mansell, best known for his scores to the Darren Aronofsky films Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Pi, and The Fountain, as well as his work with the ’90s industrial band Pop Will Eat Itself.
The posters are two colors printed on dark blue paper. The posters sold out at the shows but a few are still available in our store.

El Jefe Design was informed that the “Never Let you Go” poster and shirt we designed helped raise over $21,000. That was/will be split equally between Rebuild Recover and Architecture For Humanity’s ‘Rebuild Seaside Pier’ effort. Thank you everyone who bought a poster and shirt to make this possible.

The swami of all things manly Nick “Ron F’N Swanson” Offerman spoke/entertained at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. Go out of your way to her his Ten Tips on how to live a fulfilled life. It is worth it – as is eating The Swanson which is a turkey leg wrapped in bacon (vegan options available!)

We created this five color, limited-edition, screen printed poster with The Gaslight Anthem in conjunction with their wonderful short film “Every Word Handwritten.” The film is written and directed by Kevin Slack and premiers in New York City on February 19th. The original sale sold out in under ten minutes. We will have a small amount of artist copies available on Friday February 8 at 2 PM EST in our store. The posters will be signed by the artist only. The posters are extremely limited and will not be reprinted.

Flogging Molly, Skinny Lister, and Dave Hause stormed the Fillmore Silver Spring for a night of incredible songs about love, loss, and regret (and a few about beer and whiskey). There are a few posters left over from the show for purchase. We broke out the paint box and used a whopping five colors on the poster including metallic green and white overlays. We (The Gaslight Anthem) are astounded at the response we received to our benefit posters. They sold out in 3 hours! We have decided to make a second run of the posters available now in green. Additionally, we now have a special t-shirt designed by El Jefe Design and Bryan Kienlen from the Bouncing Souls which will also go towards providing relief to those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
The posters will be an open edition that gets cut off on Black Friday. Get the poster and the shirt through Infinite Merch.

We are happy to announce a special charity poster which we created with The Gaslight Anthem specifically to help victims of Hurricane Sandy in our home state of New Jersey. 100% of the proceeds will be split equally between Rebuild Recover and Architecture For Humanity’s ‘Rebuild Seaside Pier’ effort. Our hearts are with the victims still suffering the effects of the storm.

Jakprints posted on their blog recently the pieces of merchandise that lead in sales and profit margins. The chart above points out that Limited Edition Posters are again a wise investment for touring bands – both in cost and space (and you can charge a lot for them compared to a sticker). So if you are thinking about merch to sell in your store, site, or show please think of all the options and how El Jefe Design can help you. Because even if you can get it printed for cheap, if it looks like crap no one will buy it.

Gallery 1988 invited us to participate in their epic gallery show called “Crazy 4 Cult” which collects two hundred artists interpreting their favorite cult movies. This years show was held in New York City for the first time! Our poster is titled “Garmonbozia” and references the David Lynch movie Twin Peaks – Fire Walk With Me.
